Diamonds and coloured stones, chosen for your design
We do not sell stones from a display case: we look for them for one specific jewel. You tell us what you want and how much you wish to invest; we source, show and set.
Starting from the specification
Carat, colour, clarity, cut, shape, budget: with these we search for the right stone among the suppliers we work with and present you the options, with the merits and compromises of each. The final choice is made in the atelier, under the loupe and in natural light.
The four Cs, briefly
- Carat
- The weight of the stone: one carat is 0.2 grams. With the same cut, two diamonds of equal weight can look very different in diameter and light.
- Colour
- The scale runs from D, colourless, to Z. In a white gold mount the differences between the top grades are almost invisible to the naked eye; in yellow gold you can go down a grade without losing anything.
- Clarity
- Natural inclusions, graded at ten times magnification. What really matters is whether they can be seen with the naked eye and where they sit in the stone.
- Cut
- Proportions, symmetry and polish: this is what makes a diamond sparkle. It is the C we advise you not to economise on.

Certificates
On request, diamonds come with a certificate from an independent gemmological laboratory describing weight, colour, clarity and cut. We explain how to read it and how to compare two stones with the same paperwork.
Sapphires, emeralds, rubies
Most of the pieces that leave the atelier are set with coloured stones. For these, saturation, transparency, cut and any treatments matter, and we always disclose them. A coloured stone is chosen by looking at it: that is why we prefer to show it to you in person.
The setting is half the work
Claws, bezel, pavé, channel-set baguettes: every setting changes how the stone takes the light and how it wears every day. We design it in 3D around the chosen stone, not the other way round.
